The Founder Of F* Cancer And Motherlucker Joins Bumble As A Senior Advisor

When Yael Cohen Braun’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, she made a shirt for her mom that said “Fuck Cancer.” The mantra turned into a movement when Cohen Braun started Fuck Cancer, her nonprofit dedicated to early detection, prevention and garnering support for people affected by cancer, in 2009. After the birth of her son — Cohen Braun is married to the talent manager and entrepreneur Scott Samuel “Scooter” Braun — she launched her judgment-free digital media property Motherlucker. Now the mother of two with a baby on the way is onto her newest act.

Bumble, the popular dating and networking app with more than 40 million users, today announced that Cohen Braun has joined the team as a senior advisor and that they have acquired the assets of Motherlucker. It has been a busy time for Bumble, which Forbes values at $1 billion, and it’s founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd. Bumble recently launched a fund to invest in other female-founded startups, posted a “Find Them On Bumble” campaign throughout New York City, they are reportedly considering going public and they are pursuing a countersuit against Tinder’s parent company Match Group.

As a senior advisor at the less than four-year-old company, Cohen Braun will work directly with the senior executive team on the growth of Bumble Date, Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz as well as focusing on brand partnerships, business growth and scale and other general advisory services, according to Bumble. I spoke with Cohen Braun about her career path, advice and why she is excited to join the Bumble team.

SELFIE STATION KIOSK remains fixed in one place throughout the event. The Kiosk does not require a full-time attendant and is therefore now a cost-effective and viable marketing tool at trade shows and at venues for semi-permanent activations. 

ROAMING SELFIE LIGHT RING is held by an Attendant that will walk around the event and engage with guests or attendees.  The LED Light Ring is multi-colored.

ROAMING SELFIE LIGHT RING is multi-colored and is 18-inches by 18 inches and weighs less than 3-lbs fully-equipped.

KIOSK SELFIE STATION is (5) five-feet and six-inches tall and implements a white-colored round LED Light Ring that is 18-inches by 18-inches.

 

SELFIE STATIONS are magically powered by joy and happiness at technology!

Ok, you plug the KIOSK SELFIE STATION into a standard 120V wall socket.

The ROAMING SELFIE LIGHT RING is powered by a special battery which is carried by the Attendant. We always bring an extra battery.

All devices require WiFi to access the cloud-based event management platform.

Venues with WiFi and a physical modem at the location provide better faster and more reliable WiFi service.

We also bring a WiFi connected wireless modem to all events as back-up. 

SELFIE STATIONS  are designed to provide an automated experience for guests via an interactive touch-screen, so yes. 

Yes, the cloud-based event management platform provides an online gallery that can be made public or private with password protection. 

There is also a visual reporting dashboard that is remotely accessible during the event. 

Yes, the KIOSK can be wrapped and branded for the event or activation. 

Without custom-wrapping, the KIOSK is white with black-outlined social media icons.

Custom-wrap branding is an additional service in two-parts. Part one is the graphic design of the wrap. Part two is the application of the wrap.  

We can also send the client a template of the custom-wrap as a PhotoShop file at no charge.

Our clients retain lifetime use rights to all media captured. Clients can download any media from the gallery. The gallery will be retained and available to clients for no less than 30-days after an event.

The San Sebastian Street Festival in Old San Juan is Puerto Rico’s biggest festival, and ran from January 15 to Sunday Jan 19, 2020.

People flocked from all over the world to experience SanSe 2020. the 50th anniversary of the festival. 

We brought our photo booth rental SELFIE LIGHT RING out to play and gosh, did we capture some good selfies! We’ve included an example of a simple template featuring event informarion and branding. Selfie Sharing Station projects your selfie through the social media airwaves to shine and show all your friends and family you were at San Sebastian 2020. How to Navigate the San Juan San Sebastian Street Festival

Getting There

  • If you are NOT staying in Old San Juan, plan to arrive there as early as possible. Traffic into Old San Juan is going to be extremely heavy and slow due to the influx of festival goers and road closures. On Thursday and Friday private cars will be stopped from entering at 6pm. On Saturday and Sunday car traffic will be stopped at 11am (these times may change depending on how quickly the Old San Juan Car Parks fill up
  • Rather than drive into Old San Juan, consider taking the ferry from either Hato Rey or Catano – just make sure you know when the last ferry leaves Old San Juan
  • Paid parking will be available at Hiram Bithorn Stadium as well as Sagrado Corazon Station
  • AMA buses will run from AMA buses will run from Sagrado Corazon Station to Old San Juan station to Old San Juan
  • AMA buses will run from Old San Juan to Sagrado Corazon (until after midnight)

Entertainment

  • There will be live music at the main stages at Plaza del Quinto Centenario, Plaza Colon, Plaza de Armas and Plaza de La Barandilla. You can also expect impromptu entaertainment throughout Old San Juan during the four day festival
  • If there are any musical groups you really want to see, make sure you get to music stage early toget a good position, especially if it is the main stage at Plaza Quinto Centenario.
  • The party continues until late, with huge crowds cramming the streets. If you are with a group decide on a place to meet (preferably away from San Sebastian Street), where you can meet up if you happen to become separated
  • Concerts will typically end at 11pm (earlier on Sunday)
  • Bars will typically close at midnight (may vary by year)

General Tips

  • Day time hours are usually less crowded than the evenings. Saturday & Sunday during the day are good times to go with families
  • It’s ALWAYS hot in Old San Juan, so make sure you drink lots of fluids and not just the alcoholic kind.
  • If it rains don’t worry, the party will continue and there is bound to be some entrepreneur selling plastic ponchos
  • If you need a breather from all the action of the festival, just head down hill through Old San Juan and check out Paseo de La Princesa; it should be a little less crowded there.
  • Finally if you have a fear of crowded places, then San Sebastian Street and Old San Juan might not be the best place for you this weekend. Consider heading out away from San Juan for a daytrip.
